Business websites
What type of website does your business need?

Choose the type by what the visitor needs to do: understand a service, judge your work, reserve a time or buy a product.
Three businesses, three different routes
A design studio may need project examples and a quote request. A clothing brand may need sizes, stock and checkout. A consultant may need availability and appointment confirmation. Each can look polished, but their underlying work differs. Write the customer route in ordinary sentences before choosing technology. If the proposal contains accounts, dashboards or a cart, ask which step needs them and who will manage them after launch.
Map the customer action
A brochure site explains services, a portfolio presents evidence, a booking site manages appointments and a store handles products and orders. Some businesses combine these, but each function needs an owner and a clear workflow.
Avoid buying unused complexity
List the pages and information needed for the first launch. Memberships, dashboards and custom accounts add management work; include them only when a real user task requires them. A simple enquiry route may solve the immediate need.
Choose technology afterward
Evaluate editing, language, payments and integrations once the workflow is clear. WordPress supports varied content-led sites, while commerce platforms focus on selling. Your operating requirements should decide the shortlist, followed by a realistic demonstration.
Choose the action before the page count
Write one sentence describing a successful visitor: they request a quotation, book a consultation or buy a product. Build the main route around that action. Extra pages should answer questions that help people decide, rather than exist because a package includes a certain number.
