Can Shopify support wholesale and B2B selling?

Connected website systems and information routes.

It may, depending on the buying rules you need and the current plan capabilities. Start with pricing, approval and account requirements.

Describe one company purchase

Does a buyer need an approved account, a negotiated catalogue, a quote or payment terms? Write that route and compare each requirement with current documentation. Some older comparisons describe restrictions that have changed, so verify instead of repeating them. Test an unapproved buyer as well as an accepted one. Check who can see commercial prices and who authorises changes; a polished wholesale page is not the same as a controlled business process.

Describe the commercial model

Identify company buyers, negotiated catalogues, payment terms and order approval needs. Some wholesalers need quotation before sale; others can offer a structured account-based purchase route. Write the required behaviours before choosing extensions or upgrading a plan.

Verify each requirement

Check the current B2B considerations and feature matrix. Record which capability is native, plan-dependent or provided by an external tool. Avoid promising unlimited catalogues or a specific credit workflow without confirming the supported configuration.

Test as a buyer and operator

Walk through account access, pricing visibility, order placement and operational follow-up. Include exceptions such as an unapproved company or changed terms. Keep commercial approvals and customer data under appropriate business control.

Describe your wholesale process precisely

Write a sample order with customer-specific pricing, quantities, approval and payment terms. Ask the supplier to demonstrate it on the proposed plan and setup. Selling several items to a company is not the same requirement as running a structured wholesale operation with negotiated rules.
