Arabic and international selling
What is the difference between Shopify markets and languages?

No. Language helps people understand the store; selling into a country also needs a working payment, delivery and support arrangement.
Separate language from selling coverage
An Arabic-speaking customer can live in several countries, and customers in one country may use different languages. List the destinations you actually serve, then the languages you can maintain. Before adding a new market, test a local address, the payment route and return handling. A market selector that shows the country name is not evidence that the order can be fulfilled. Document exceptions before advertising the new destination.
Map real customer needs
An Arabic-speaking customer might shop from more than one country, and a country can contain customers using different languages. Write down the actual destinations you serve and the languages you can maintain. Do not create a market simply to make a country name appear in a selector.
Check operational readiness
Before expanding, verify delivery coverage, return handling and payment availability for the intended customer. Decide who approves localised product content. If a market has different products or prices, check the configuration available to your plan and store rather than promising uniform capabilities everywhere.
Review the complete route
Open the store as a customer in each intended configuration and inspect language, currency presentation and shipping eligibility. A translated homepage does not prove the order can be completed. Keep a launch matrix with each market, language, payment route and delivery test outcome.
Treat each market as an operating decision
For one proposed destination, review language, eligible payment methods, delivery and the prices or terms customers see. Assign owners for changes in those areas. Translation is one part of the experience; a language switch alone cannot establish that a destination is ready for sales.
