Choosing a platform

Can you sell services through Shopify?

Scheduling calendar with a service or order symbol.

Yes, but be clear about what the customer receives and whether a separate booking or intake process is needed after payment.

A fixed service and a bespoke project differ

A clearly defined service can have a known price and purchase route. A project whose scope is agreed later may need a quote instead. If a time must be reserved, confirm how the calendar and payment work together; an order does not prove a provider is available. Test the information the service owner receives and the instructions sent to the customer. Publish change and cancellation terms that match the actual process.

Define the deliverable

Explain the service, scope, price conditions and what is included. Distinguish a fixed deliverable from a project requiring a quotation. Do not turn an undefined service into a product merely to make online payment possible.

Map the post-purchase work

Decide how the customer provides information and whether a time must be reserved. Review scheduling and notification integrations when needed. A paid order does not prove a consultant, room or appointment slot is available.

Review expectations

Publish approved change, cancellation and contact instructions that match operations. Test the complete route with the actual service owner. Confirm market and provider support before advertising any payment method.

Define the deliverable before adding a price

Describe what the customer receives, what must happen after payment and what is outside the service. If availability or a consultation is required, connect that step explicitly. A service can fit a commerce flow when its fulfilment is defined, rather than leaving the customer with a receipt and no next action.
