Doing business in Qatar
Should a Qatar business website start in Arabic or English?

Use the language your customers need and that your team can properly maintain. A bilingual site is useful when both routes are complete.
Use your enquiries as evidence
Look at actual messages and sales conversations: which language do people use, and which details need explaining? Separate that from the language your internal team prefers. Translate the product or service facts and contact route first. If you invite Arabic enquiries, decide who can answer them. Review external booking or payment tools too; their language may differ. Revisit the choice as your audience changes rather than assuming one language represents everyone in Qatar.
Use evidence from enquiries
Review the languages used by customers, sales conversations and existing traffic where available. Separate the language of the business team from the visitor’s needs. Record important terms that need consistent translation rather than relying on intuition alone.
Prioritise complete journeys
A smaller set of well-maintained pages can be more useful than translating every heading while leaving essential details unreadable. Include contact, product or service facts and the intended action. Google recommends distinct URLs for language versions.
Plan who responds
If the site invites Arabic enquiries, agree who can answer them and maintain the Arabic copy. Review support channels and external tools as well as the visible pages. Revisit language priorities when the audience or service offering changes.
Use customer evidence
Review the languages used in enquiries, sales conversations and catalogue material. Start with the audience you can serve well, then plan the other version as a complete journey. Do not choose a language solely from the interface of the tool or the preference of the person building the site.
