Planning your store

How much does a Shopify website cost in Qatar?

Project budget worksheet with separate one-time and recurring cost cards.

The useful question is what the quote includes. Two stores with the same number of products can need very different amounts of work.

What makes two quotes different?

Imagine two brands with 30 products. One supplies approved photos, descriptions and a ready theme. The other needs Arabic copy, new product templates and a connection to its fulfilment provider. They are not buying the same project. Ask each supplier to price the same list, including product entry, revision rounds and handover. Then add subscriptions and recurring app charges separately; otherwise the cheaper quotation may simply leave more work for you.

Separate setup from running costs

List design, development, product entry and translation as project work. Separately record the Shopify subscription, domain renewal, paid theme, recurring apps and payment processing. Shopify offers plans with different features; check current pricing directly when deciding. A low initial quote can become expensive if important tasks were excluded.

Make competing quotes comparable

Give each supplier the same brief: number of products, required templates, languages, integrations and content responsibilities. Ask whether the quote covers mobile layouts, product options, review rounds and handover. A five-page brochure estimate cannot meaningfully be compared with a bilingual catalogue build.

Use a simple budget worksheet

Create columns for item, owner, one-time cost, recurring cost and approval status. Leave uncertain items blank until confirmed. For example, translation may be supplied by your team or priced separately; record that decision before approving development. FIKRA quotes after discussing the actual requirements rather than publishing an invented standard price.

Why product count is an incomplete estimate

Thirty products using one straightforward template can be easier to prepare than ten products with different buying rules, personalisation and missing media. Count the kinds of work, not only the number of entries. Ask how variants, image grouping, size charts and translations are treated. If you supply the catalogue, agree the format and who checks it. Otherwise the quote can appear complete while both sides assume the other is responsible for product preparation.

What happens when you ask for changes?

A revision usually refines agreed work; a new integration or additional page type may be new scope. Have the supplier explain that boundary in understandable language before approval. Ask how feedback is collected and who signs off commercial details. An estimate with no clear acceptance point can become difficult to finish even when everyone is working in good faith. Keep later ideas in a separate list so they can be priced deliberately.

The number to compare

Compare a complete launch budget and a separate ongoing budget. Do not combine estimated recurring charges with confirmed one-time fees without marking the difference. Check current subscription and provider terms directly. FIKRA cannot give an honest fixed price from product count alone; the useful next step is a brief covering content, languages, templates, integrations and support. That lets competing quotations answer the same question.

Make the handover part of the quote

Ask whether the quote includes account access, training, documented integrations and a clear point at which the work is accepted. Identify the price of changes after that point. A store is not fully handed over when its homepage is visible if your team cannot update products or understand recurring bills.
