Choosing a platform
Can you keep a WordPress blog and use Shopify for your store?

Yes, you can plan separate content and store systems. First check whether keeping both is worth the extra navigation, accounts and maintenance work.
Make the boundaries clear to customers
A reader should be able to move from an article to the relevant product without wondering whether they reached another business. Keep branding and language links coherent, and explain account boundaries: a blog login is not automatically a store login. Decide the domains and tracking before building. Also compare moving the content into one system; keeping two platforms is sensible when it preserves a real benefit, not merely because both accounts already exist.
Decide why both are needed
List the editorial features worth preserving and the commerce workflows you want to add. Compare this with moving content into one system. Do not keep two platforms merely because both appear in the existing account list.
Make the customer route coherent
Agree how readers reach the store and return to useful content. Review branding, language links and login expectations. A blog account should not be presented as a store account unless an actual supported integration provides that behaviour.
Plan measurement and ownership
Document domain settings, redirects, analytics and support contacts for both sides. Test campaign links and the final buying route. Do not interpret matching visual design as proof of shared customer data or unified reporting.
Plan how visitors move between the two
Define where articles, product pages and account functions live, then test links and navigation in both directions. Keep branding and language routes understandable. The arrangement can preserve an established publishing workflow, but someone must manage two systems and avoid presenting them as one seamless setup before checking it.
