Business websites
What is the difference between a domain and hosting?

The domain is the address; hosting delivers the site at that address. You may buy them from different providers.
What happens when one service changes
Think of moving a shop without changing its published address: a website can change hosts while keeping the domain, if the connection is updated correctly. Email can be a separate service again. Before a move, record which provider handles the domain, DNS, website and email. Do not replace every DNS record just to point the site elsewhere. Keep renewal access with the business so an old supplier account does not control the address indefinitely.
Separate the accounts
Record the registrar, DNS manager and hosting provider. Check who receives renewal notices and owns recovery access. Qatar’s domain authority explains domain registration separately from launching a hosted website.
Understand the connection
DNS points services to their destinations. Your website and email may use different records, so a website move should not blindly replace the whole configuration. Keep a record of existing values before approved changes.
Plan renewal and handover
Maintain a business-owned contact address, renewal schedule and access register. Ask what happens if the hosting contract ends. A working site today is not proof that the business controls its domain next year.
Make an ownership list
Record the domain registrar, account owner, renewal contact and the place where website files or platform settings live. Keep email hosting on that list too. This makes a future move or supplier change easier and prevents a website change from accidentally becoming an email outage.
